USDA food package for RI

WASHINGTON (Reuters): The U.S. Agriculture Department and
Indonesian officials were discussing a PL-480 "food for peace"
package for sales of U.S. wheat, soybeans and rice, Agriculture
Undersecretary Gus Schumacher said Wednesday.

Discussions should be completed in the near future, he told
reporters.

The State Department also was considering a food package with
Indonesia under another section of PL-480.

Schumacher said a general agreement was needed on commodities
to be included in the Title I sales package before an
announcement was made.
