Usaha Tegas, STT tie up
KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones): Malaysia's Usaha Tegas Group said
Friday its affiliate has signed a memorandum of understanding
with Singapore Technologies Telemedia Pte. Ltd. to develop and
establish a regional broadband communications and multimedia
network infrastructure.
The network infrastructure will cover Singapore, Indonesia,
the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Indochina, China and India,
the group said.
Usaha Tegas' affiliate, Paxys Sdn. Bhd., and ST Telemedia will
pursue discussions to develop and establish an integrated
multimedia and communications interactive network infrastructure,
which will include coordinated third generation and advanced
satellite frequencies.
Usaha Tegas is a private firm owned by local tycoon Ananda
Krishnan.
ST Telemedia is a member of the government-linked diversified
conglomerate Singapore Technologies Group.
