US war costs against Iran hit Rp15 trillion per day

The cost of financing the United States’ war against Iran is not insignificant. In the first 100 hours of the war, the strategic think tank CSIS estimates that the budget deployed has reached USD 3.7 billion, about Rp64.291 trillion, or USD 891.4 million per day (Rp15 trillion). With President Donald Trump and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth indicating the war could last for weeks, the DC-based think tank notes that the Department of Defence will require more money than currently budgeted. ‘The cost of ammunition will decline as the United States shifts to cheaper ammunition,’ CSIS said. The report explains that initial costs for air strikes are indeed higher due to the sophisticated weapons required. ‘Nevertheless, the unbudgeted costs here will be very large… That means the Department of Defence will need additional funding at some point because the level of budget cuts needed to fund this conflict internally is likely to be politically and operationally challenging,’ it said. President Donald Trump attacked Iran as it was deemed to threaten the US. However, Trump’s attack has drawn criticism from many quarters. Trump is seen as merely following Israel’s wishes. More than 1,000 people have been killed as a result of the brutal aggression.
