US Vice President: Peace Deal Guarantees Iran Will Never Possess Nuclear Weapons
Washington (ANTARA) - United States Vice President JD Vance has said that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran includes a guarantee that Tehran will never possess nuclear weapons. “That means Iran will never have nuclear weapons, will have no desire to be nuclear-armed, and will not be permitted to attempt to procure or purchase them. This is stipulated in the peace deal,” Vance told Fox News. The US Vice President confirmed that Washington would monitor Iran’s compliance with the peace agreement, but he did not detail what Tehran would receive in return. “There is an approach where we will verify it and where there are concrete benefits for Iran if they fulfil their obligations,” he said. He added that Iran’s compliance with the peace deal would trigger a fundamental transformation of the Middle East for the next 50 years, making the region increasingly friendly for investment.
