U.S. urged to be consistent

VIETNAM: Hanoi urged Washington on Wednesday to be consistent in
fighting terrorism by helping capture people based in the United
States who attack Vietnam or its embassies abroad.

Last week, the FBI arrested a Vietnamese-born U.S. citizen in
southern California in connection with a bombing attempt at
Vietnam's embassy in Thailand.

Vo Van Duc, 41, of Baldwin Park, California, is accused of
planting two bombs -- one thrown inside the gate and the other
set against the compound's walls -- at the Bangkok embassy on
June 19. Investigators said his fingerprints were found on the
explosives.

The bombs were discovered and detonated by Thai police and no
damage was done. --AP
