US Troops Rush to Find Ways to Avoid Deployment in War Against Iran

Washington — A director of an organisation that supports United States soldiers who refuse to participate in war says their hotline has recently been ringing continuously. Mike Prysner, executive director of the Center on Conscience & War, reported via WANA on Saturday, 7 March 2026, that he posted on X about receiving numerous calls from soldiers who refuse to be deployed to fight Iran.

The organisation led by Prysner has recently opened a helpline to advocate for active-duty servicemen who believe the US-Israel war against Iran is a mistake. The Center on Conscience & War will also provide guidance for soldiers to refuse participation in war.

According to Prysner, the number of troops likely to be deployed to the Middle East is larger than what the Pentagon has publicly disclosed. This has sparked concern among active-duty soldiers, resulting in the hotline continually ringing.

‘With the announcement of the first death of an American in an immoral war, many soldiers are beginning to question their roles. Our role is to find them, defend them, and help bring them home,’ Prysner said.
