US to Blockade Iran's Maritime Access Starting Today

New York (ANTARA) - The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) vows to blockade all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports starting Monday at 14:00 GMT or 21:00 WIB. “US Central Command forces will begin enforcing a blockade on all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports on 13 April at 10:00 AM ET (14:00 GMT), in accordance with the President’s proclamation,” the command stated. CENTCOM emphasised that the blockade will be enforced comprehensively against ships from all countries entering or exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. “CENTCOM forces will not impede freedom of navigation for ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz en route to non-Iranian ports,” the CENTCOM statement added.
