US Strikes Railway Bridge on China-Russia Trade Route in Iran

The United States has reportedly bombed a strategic railway bridge in northern Iran, a vital part of the logistics trade route to China, Russia, and Turkmenistan. According to a report by Iran’s Fars news agency, the air strike targeted the Ogtay Khan Railway Bridge in Golestan Province, which was hit by US cruise missiles on Thursday morning local time. The US had previously launched another massive air strike against Iran on Wednesday evening, marking the second consecutive day of open hostilities between the two countries. Iran’s Ministry of Health reported that at least 14 people were killed and 78 others injured in the latest wave of US military strikes. ‘Of the injured, 47 people are still being treated in hospital and the rest have been allowed to go home after receiving medical care,’ said Hossein Kermanpour, Head of Public Relations at Iran’s Ministry of Health, in a statement via his X social media account. However, the ministry did not provide further details on whether the casualties were civilians or military personnel.
