US strikes in Yemen kill 153 people throughout 2025

A Pentagon review has revealed that US strikes in Yemen have killed 153 civilians and wounded approximately 250 others throughout 2025, The Washington Post reported. The data represents the first public confirmation from the Pentagon that military operations in Yemen have had a significant impact on civilians. The US War Department claims it struck more than 1,000 targets in Yemen and has identified three incidents involving civilian casualties, with 15 other events currently under review. Last week, NBC News reported that hundreds of civilians had been killed by US airstrikes in Yemen during 2025. On 15 March 2025, US President Donald Trump ordered a large-scale assault on northern areas of Yemen controlled by the Shia Houthi group. The military operation lasted 53 days before concluding with a ceasefire announcement by Oman’s Foreign Ministry.
