US Strikes in Iran Kill 14, Tehran Calls It 'Psychopathic' Act

The Iranian government has strongly condemned American military strikes targeting a number of civilian infrastructure sites in its territory on 8 and 9 July 2026. Tehran has officially described the action as a “grave war crime” because it targeted public facilities and caused casualties among civilians.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the aggressive strikes carried out by the US military hit several locations in the southern coastal provinces. The attacks were also reported to have damaged two important bridges in an eastern province that form part of the main railway line to the holy city of Mashhad.

In its official statement, as quoted by TRT World, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the action and launched a scathing criticism of the United States government. Tehran even went as far as calling the US administration an “evil and psychopathic” entity over the escalation of the attacks.

Data from the Iranian Ministry of Health shows that the US air strikes lasted two days and covered five different provinces. The head of the Ministry of Health’s Centre for Public Relations and Information, Hossein Kermanpour, confirmed the details of the affected areas through a post on the social media account X.

“We recorded that the United States targeted five Iranian provinces in the attacks on 8 and 9 July,” Kermanpour wrote in his report.

According to the provisional data released by Kermanpour, the attacks have resulted in at least 14 deaths. In addition to the fatalities, 78 others were recorded as injured and are currently receiving medical treatment at local healthcare facilities.

The situation in the affected areas remains under close monitoring by the Iranian authorities. The strikes on the railway logistics route to Mashhad are feared to disrupt residents’ mobility and the distribution of essential goods in the east of the country.
