US Strikes in Iran Kill 14, Tehran Calls It 'Psychopathic' Act

The Iranian government has fiercely condemned United States military strikes targeting civilian infrastructure on 8 and 9 July 2026, officially denouncing the action as a ‘serious war crime’ for hitting public facilities and causing civilian casualties. Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the aggressive attacks by US forces struck several points in the southern coastal province, and also damaged two vital bridges in the eastern province, which serve as a main railway line to the holy city of Mashhad. In an official statement, the ministry sharply criticised the US administration, describing it as an ‘evil and psychopathic’ entity over the escalation. Data from Iran’s Ministry of Health indicated the two-day aerial assault spanned five provinces. Hossein Kermanpour, head of the ministry’s public relations and information centre, confirmed the details, reporting that at least 14 people were killed and 78 others were injured and are receiving medical treatment. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation in the affected areas, with particular concern that the damage to the logistics railway line to Mashhad could disrupt civilian mobility and the distribution of essential supplies in the country’s east.
