US Strengthens Energy and Mineral Cooperation with Latin America
Washington (ANTARA) - US Deputy Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg is scheduled to travel to Guyana, Panama, and Costa Rica to strengthen strategic cooperation in securing critical mineral supply chains and energy stability.
“Deputy Secretary Helberg will attend meetings and bilateral discussions from 12-16 May to advance US interests and strengthen partnerships in energy security and critical mineral supply chains in our region,” according to a statement from the US Department of State on Tuesday (12/5).
According to the report, in the fiscal year 2027 budget request, the US presidential administration plans to allocate nearly $13 billion (approximately Rp200 trillion) to strengthen critical mineral supply chains.
This initiative treats computational power, silicon, critical minerals, and energy as shared strategic assets, with one of its main pillars focusing on building a resilient economic order to drive prosperity for partner countries through AI.
