US Retail Petrol Prices Nearly Reach 4 US Dollars per Gallon
New York City (ANTARA) - The average retail price of petrol in the United States (US) on Monday (30/3) nearly touched 4 US dollars (1 US dollar = Rp16,993) per gallon for the first time since August 2022, driven by rising crude oil prices and supply disruptions. The current national average price is in the range of 3.98 to 4.00 US dollars per gallon, up from around 2.98 US dollars a month ago. Petrol prices in the US have surged more than 34 percent since the end of February, based on GasBuddy data compiled from over 12 million individual price reports covering more than 150,000 petrol stations nationwide. The national average price for diesel has exceeded 5 US dollars per gallon. The spike in petrol prices, resulting from supply disruptions due to conflicts in the Middle East, has led to a decline in driving activity, with many US consumers reconsidering their travel plans.
