US Reportedly Already Controls Strait of Hormuz, Trump Affirms Coordination with Israel

US President Donald Trump has stated that Washington has begun taking steps to control the Strait of Hormuz amid rising conflict with Iran. In an interview with Israel’s Channel 14, Trump affirmed his belief that the US is capable of controlling the strategic shipping route. “Yes, of course, it’s already happening,” he said, quoted by Anadolu on Monday (30/3). Trump also emphasised very close coordination between the US government and Israel in responding to the Iran situation. He described relations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as being in the best condition. “The coordination is very close. We have a good relationship. It couldn’t be better,” Trump stated. Additionally, Trump claimed that Iran actually has a strong desire to reach an agreement amid ongoing military pressure. “I think they really want to do it. Anyone would want a deal if they are being destroyed, right?” he continued. Since 28 February, the United States and Israel have launched airstrikes against Iran, killing more than 1,340 people, including the then Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran launched retaliatory attacks using drones and missiles targeting Israeli territory as well as countries such as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf regions hosting US military assets. This series of attacks has not only caused casualties and infrastructure damage but also had widespread impacts on regional stability, including disruptions to global markets and the aviation sector. Amid the US-Israel attacks, Washington has opened opportunities for negotiations with Iran. Trump is pushing for a swift peaceful agreement. President Donald Trump affirmed that the conflict with Iran is not over. Targeting thousands of new points and issuing an ultimatum to close the Strait of Hormuz for the next six days. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US is awaiting Iran’s clarification on the 15-point peace proposal. He is optimistic that the war will end without ground troops. Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali revealed the conditions for a ceasefire in the Middle East, from war reparations to control of the Strait of Hormuz. Escalation of the Iran, United States, and Israel war in the Middle East has intensified again after Iran launched missile strikes on Israeli territory on Tuesday (24/3). Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei has been confirmed dead. The 28 February 2026 attack by the US-Israel alliance was indeed planned for months to kill key Iranian figures.
