US Releases New $100 Bill Signed by Trump, First in History
The US Department of the Treasury will issue new $100 bills featuring the signature of President Donald Trump starting in June this year. Trump’s signature will appear on the bills as part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of American independence. With this issuance, Trump is said to become the first US president whose signature appears directly on US dollar bills. In addition, this special edition bill is the first in 165 years not to include the signature of the US Treasury Secretary. Previously, the US Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) unanimously approved the design of the 250th anniversary commemorative coin made from 24-karat gold. The CFA, to RIA Novosti, stated that the obverse of the coin will feature an image of President Trump in the Oval Office with his fist clenched on the desk. Meanwhile, the reverse will depict the bald eagle, the national bird of the United States.
