Tehran (ANTARA) - The United States has committed to lifting sanctions against Tehran within a timeframe agreed by both parties, according to a draft final agreement, Iran’s IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday, citing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries.

“The United States commits to ending all types of sanctions against Iran, including sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council, the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and all unilateral US sanctions, both primary and secondary, within a timeframe agreed by the parties, which will be part of the final agreement,” reads the seventh paragraph of the MoU.

Iran previously stated that the final agreement would be negotiated within 60 days after the signing of the MoU and would resolve Iran’s nuclear issue. However, the third paragraph of the MoU published by IRNA states that the parties may extend the deadline to reach an agreement.

In the MoU, Iran affirmed that it will not produce or acquire nuclear weapons. “Iran reaffirms that the country will not produce or acquire nuclear weapons,” reads the eighth paragraph of the MoU.

Under the memorandum, Tehran and Washington will also resolve the issue of Iran’s nuclear material under IAEA supervision.
