US Plans to Divert Weaponry from Turkey to Ukraine

The United States Department of State has reportedly submitted a report to Congress regarding a plan to divert American weapons systems from Turkey to Ukraine. According to official Congressional documents, the diversion includes Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) launchers and ATACMS ballistic missiles. The planned transaction involves the permanent transfer of 12 M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) launchers. Additionally, the aid package includes 2,524 unguided M26 Dual-Purpose Improved Conventional Munitions (DPICM) rockets, as well as 47,000 rounds of 203mm M509AI DPICM howitzer ammunition. The shipment of this heavy weaponry is planned to be facilitated through private entities. Three Turkish companies involved are MKE, ASFAT, and ARCA Savunma. There is also involvement from the Bulgarian private company VTIC International Ltd., along with two US-based companies, Pansophico and Patriot Defense Group. The documents also detail the permanent transfer of 70 M39 ATACMS missiles to the Government of Ukraine. This process will be carried out through coordination between the Turkish private entity MKE AS and Pansophico and Patriot Defense Group from the United States. Responding to the report, Russia warned that supplying weapons to Ukraine will only hinder the conflict resolution process. Moscow views this move as directly involving NATO member countries in an armed confrontation. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that any shipment of weapons to Ukraine will be a legitimate target for the Russian military. The Kremlin stated that Western arms support does not support the negotiation process and will instead have broader negative consequences.
