Washington (ANTARA) - The United States (US) is offering a reward of up to $10 million (approximately Rp172 billion) for information on Hashim Finyan Rahim al-Saraji, the leader of the Iran-backed Iraqi group Kata’ib Sayyid ul-Shuhada (KSS), according to the Rewards for Justice (RFJ) programme of the State Department on Friday (24/4). “Reward of up to Rp172 billion for information on KSS leader Hashim Finyan Rahim al-Saraji,” RFJ stated on the X platform. The group is allied with Iran, it added. According to RFJ, KSS is suspected of being responsible for the deaths of Iraqi civilians. The group has also attacked US diplomatic facilities as well as personnel and military bases in Iraq and Syria. RFJ urged anyone with knowledge of al-Saraji’s whereabouts to contact them via the Tor information channel or the Signal messaging app. Eligible informants will receive protection (relocation) and the reward, it added. On 1 April, the State Department offered a reward of up to $3 million (approximately Rp51 billion) for information on attacks against US diplomatic facilities in Iraq. On 9 April, the department summoned the Iraqi Ambassador to Washington regarding attacks on American diplomatic facilities in Baghdad, which are suspected to have been carried out by groups “allied with Iran”.
