US National Deported from Sukabumi for Disturbing Public Order
The Sukabumi Immigration Office has deported an American citizen with the initials E.C.C. after the individual allegedly disturbed public order in Sukabumi City. The administrative immigration action was carried out on 31 July 2026 via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The deportation process was initiated after the Sukabumi Immigration Office received a report from the Sukabumi City Police Resort regarding a foreign national who was secured by residents in a housing area on 29 July 2026. Based on initial information from the police, E.C.C. was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Following up on the report, immigration officers coordinated with the police and examined the individual’s immigration status. The results of the examination served as the basis for imposing administrative immigration action in the form of deportation in accordance with the law. The Head of the Sukabumi Immigration Office stated that deportation is an administrative action that can be imposed on foreign nationals who commit acts that endanger public security and order or fail to comply with laws and regulations while in Indonesia. “Every foreigner in Indonesian territory is obliged to respect the prevailing laws, norms, and public order. The Directorate General of Immigration will take firm action against any immigration violations as a commitment to safeguarding state sovereignty and creating a sense of security for the public,” he said in a press release on Tuesday (4/8/2026). E.C.C. was deported on a Qantas Airways flight with the route Jakarta-Melbourne-Los Angeles on Friday (31/7/2026) at 21.00 WIB. The Sukabumi Immigration Office stated it will continue to strengthen supervision of the presence and activities of foreign nationals through coordination with law enforcement agencies, local governments, and the community. This measure is taken to support effective immigration control while maintaining public security and order.
