US Missiles Insufficient for Full-Scale War Against Iran

The United States has admitted it does not have enough missiles to sustain a full-scale war against Iran, even as military strikes between the two nations continue. US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated on Tuesday that its forces targeted military command centres, maritime facilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defence systems in Iran, releasing new footage of the airstrikes. “American forces remain vigilant and ready to hold Iran accountable for unprovoked attacks on civilian crews seeking to transit the strait freely and openly,” CENTCOM wrote.

President Donald Trump is reportedly considering options for a broader war against Tehran, with more American fighter jets being deployed to the Middle East. However, a US official familiar with the discussions told The Washington Post that operations would be constrained by dwindling supplies of air defence systems and long-range munitions. “We don’t have enough munitions to sustain operations safely, and I don’t think the White House realises that,” the official said. The US has expanded its strikes over nine consecutive days, edging closer to a full-scale regional war.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it had struck targets in Bahrain, Jordan, and Syria, vowing to teach the US an unforgettable lesson to deter future aggression. The IRGC also declared it would never trust American promises or negotiations. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Tehran is engaged in a “full-scale war” with the US and that Washington must accept the consequences. He noted that the most critical battlefield is not military but economic, concerning the people’s livelihoods. Despite the escalation, both sides have signalled that diplomatic backchannels remain open.
