US Military Strike on Iran Proves Trump's Warning Over Stalled Nuclear Negotiations
The United States has conducted military strikes against numerous Iranian targets from the air and sea, according to Reuters reports on Saturday, 28 February 2026. The strikes serve as validation of statements made by US President Donald Trump on 20 February 2026, in which he stated he was considering the possibility of conducting limited strikes against Iran.
Trump had called upon Tehran to reach an agreement, warning that failing to do so would result in Iran facing “a bad day”. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei responded to Trump’s warning, stating that Iran would regard even limited US strikes as an act of aggression.
Previously, President Trump had also warned Iran against continuing its nuclear programme, though Tehran rejected all offers. Following the strikes, Trump stated: “After that attack, we warned them never to continue their militia efforts in developing nuclear weapons. We have repeatedly attempted to reach an agreement, but Iran has refused. They rejected every opportunity.”
Trump further noted that Iran has attempted to revive its nuclear programme and is developing long-range missiles capable of reaching Europe and potentially the United States. He added that the US would destroy Iran’s missiles, missile industry, and navy.
