The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has indicated that American military forces have used bases in neighbouring countries to deploy long-range attack systems against Iran.

This admission emerged when CENTCOM shared images and commentary highlighting the capabilities of advanced systems such as HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems) and Precision Strike Missiles in offensive operations against Iran.

The public posts demonstrated how American forces utilised rocket and missile systems against Iranian targets. CENTCOM described these weapons as providing “unrivalled deep-strike capability” in such operations.

Iranian officials claimed that video evidence released by CENTCOM showed American HIMARS rocket systems being deployed from neighbouring countries to strike Iranian targets.

The United States has not disclosed the precise launch locations, fuelling speculation that American forces may be operating from bases in the Persian Gulf within range of Iran’s southern coastline.

Military analysts noted that HIMARS systems can strike targets at distances of 300–500 kilometres, meaning launchers positioned along the Persian Gulf could reach Iranian strategic infrastructure.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sharply criticised the disclosure. “Thank you CENTCOM for acknowledging that you are using our neighbours’ territory to deploy HIMARS systems against our people,” Araghchi wrote.

“No one should complain if our powerful missiles destroy these systems wherever they are located in retaliation,” he added.

The United States has employed various weapons systems in what is described as Israeli military operations against Iran. Reports indicate that aircraft, drones, and HIMARS rocket launchers have struck more than 1,000 targets across Iranian territory.

Regional bases hosting American forces include Persian Gulf locations where HIMARS and other assets can reach Iran. CENTCOM’s release of images and deployment details was presented as part of its explanation of American military operational approaches in the Middle East.

Arab nations had previously denied using their territory to strike Iran. CENTCOM’s post appears to contradict these statements.
