US Lacks Sufficient Missiles for Full-Scale War with Iran, Official Warns

A United States official has warned that America does not have enough missiles to safely engage in a full-scale war with Iran. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that any expanded operation would be constrained by depleted stockpiles of air defence and long-range munitions. “We don’t have enough ammunition to sustain operations safely, and I don’t think the White House realises that,” the official told The Washington Post. The assessment comes as President Donald Trump is reportedly considering options for a wider war against Tehran, coinciding with the deployment of additional American fighter jets to the Middle East. The US has intensified its strikes during a nine-day bombing campaign against Iran, edging closer to an all-out regional conflict. In response, Iran has launched attacks across the region, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announcing strikes on targets in Bahrain, Jordan, and Syria. The IRGC vowed to teach the US an “unforgettable lesson” that would deter any future aggression. “Now that criminal America has once again chosen the path of error, aggression, and adventurism, we are firmly bound to this pledge: that we will deliver an ‘unforgettable lesson’… a lesson that will prevent any aggressor from repeating its mistake,” the IRGC stated. The IRGC also declared it would never trust the US or its promises to reach a negotiated settlement. “We promise that… we will never tie the fate of this country to the promises of a child-killing enemy whose track record is full of broken trust, deceit, and hatred towards the Iranian nation,” the statement added. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran is engaged in a “full-scale war” with the US, insisting Washington must accept the consequences. Despite the fiery rhetoric, both sides have indicated that diplomacy continues behind the scenes.
