US Issues Security Alert for Citizens Amid Escalating Middle East Tensions

Washington (ANTARA) - The US State Department issued a security alert amid rising tensions in the Middle East, advising American citizens to exercise increased caution.

“Due to increased tensions in the Middle East, the security situation remains complex and can change rapidly. U.S. citizens in the Middle East should remain vigilant and be prepared to adjust their activities due to the potential for flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and other travel disruptions,” the notice stated on Tuesday.

The warning follows a series of attacks resulting in US military casualties. Two US military personnel were killed and another was reported missing after an Iranian attack targeted an airbase in Jordan on Friday.

The Pentagon announced on Monday that the number of US military casualties from Iranian attacks has risen to nearly 100 over the past two weeks.
