US–Israel–Iran Conflict: Prabowo Highlights Domestic Food and Energy Readiness
Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto said Indonesia’s domestic food and energy preparedness would be a focus in responding to the conflict between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other. The remarks were made by Almuzzammil Yusuf, president of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), after a meeting at the Presidential Palace with the former president and vice president, senior diplomats, and the heads of political parties on Tuesday evening, 3 March 2025.
“In essence, how prepared we are to face that crisis. He explained readiness in terms of food security, energy security, and elite-level dialogue,” Almuzzammil said, at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta, quoted from a Kompas TV broadcast.
During the discussion, Prabowo was said to have explained that the Board of Peace might not be the ideal choice, but is considered the most realistic option to push long-term peace in Palestine.
“From Prabowo’s explanation about the Board of Peace, that is an explanation he may have given to MUI and Islamic organisations,” Almuzzammil added.
Prabowo also outlined the government’s anticipatory steps to address potential impacts of the conflict, especially related to the energy sector and national stability.
“The President explained various aspects related to geopolitical developments and Indonesia’s readiness to face global dynamics, particularly in the context of energy and other issues,” said Bahlil.
“Principally, we, as political parties, fully understand the position taken by the President and the readiness of measures to anticipate this situation,” Bahlil added.
