Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released a list of emergency hotlines for the Directorate of Indonesian Citizens Protection (PWNI) and hotlines for Indonesian diplomatic missions in the Middle East region.

The emergency numbers were released to provide communication channels for Indonesian citizens caught in the war situation between the United States, Israel, and Iran.

“In an emergency situation, Indonesian citizens can immediately contact the Hotline of the Directorate for Indonesian Citizens Protection at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via the number +62 812-9007-0027,” the Foreign Ministry stated in its official announcement on Monday (2 March 2026).

Indonesian citizens can also contact the hotline of Indonesian diplomatic missions in the Middle East region to maintain communication. The Foreign Ministry, through its diplomatic mission in the Middle East, has urged all Indonesian citizens in affected areas to remain calm, increase vigilance, follow instructions from local authorities, and maintain regular communication with the nearest Indonesian diplomatic mission.

“The Foreign Ministry, through the Directorate of Indonesian Citizens Protection (PWNI) and Indonesian missions in the Middle East region, continues to maintain intensive communication and coordinate with Indonesian citizens in their respective areas of operation,” the ministry added.

The Foreign Ministry also urged Indonesians planning to travel through or transit the Middle East region to reconsider their travel plans and postpone travel until the situation becomes more conducive.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with all Indonesian missions in the region, will continue to monitor and conduct comprehensive assessments of the security situation dynamics, actual conditions on the ground, and response measures being and will be undertaken to address future developments,” the ministry stated.

Meanwhile, news agency Agence France-Presse reported two explosions heard in Tehran. The United States is reported to have been involved in the attacks, according to several US officials and other sources with knowledge of the operation.

The attacks occurred as the United States deployed a large fleet of fighter jets and warships to the region to pressure Iran into reaching an agreement regarding its nuclear programme. In the attacks, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei died at his residence along with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandson.
