US-Israel Attack on Iran Breaches UN Charter

An independent United Nations inquiry into human rights abuses in Iran has strongly condemned the United States and Israel’s attack on the country. The inquiry said the strikes are in breach of the UN Charter, which forbids the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state. The US Embassy in Qatar has urged American citizens in the Gulf state to depart immediately if it is safe to do so, noting that on March 3 the State Department ordered non-emergency personnel and their families to leave Qatar due to the threat of armed conflict. The embassy added that Qatar’s airspace and maritime routes remain closed, with the Salwa crossing to Saudi Arabia presently open.

The Turkish Defence Ministry said NATO defence systems recently intercepted ballistic missiles launched from Iran. In a statement, the ministry said the missiles were shot down near Dortyol, on the Mediterranean coast, causing no casualties, and emphasised that Turkey can safeguard its territory and citizens regardless of the source of the threat. It urged restraint and called on all parties to avoid actions that would further widen the conflict in the region.

The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) has urged the government to guarantee the safety of all Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in the Middle East following the US-Israel attack on Iran. There are reports that Israel is expected to continue bombing Iran for at least another two weeks, according to the latest information from Israeli military circles. Previously, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) pledged not to allow the attacks to pass unchallenged.
