U.S. Islamic scholar to give lecture here

JAKARTA (JP): Alwi Shihab, a visiting scholar at Hartford Seminary, the U.S., who is now visiting Indonesia, is scheduled to speak at a meeting here on Sunday.

The topic to be discussed at the meeting, to be held by New Muslims at the Ministry of Health's Training Center on Jl. Hang Jebat, Kebayoran Baru at 2:15 p.m., will be: Does Islam tolerate differences of opinion?

New Muslims is a group providing access to information on Islam to new or prospective English-speaking Moslems and their families and to non-Moslem inquirers.
