US-Iran War Breaks Out to Create "Greater Israel"

The US war against Iran is believed to be due to Israel’s interests. This was stated by former Uncle Sam official Paul Craig Roberts, who once held the position of Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under former President Ronald Reagan. Roberts stated that the war in the Middle East, particularly the war against Iran, cannot be understood separately from what he described as a “broader agenda related to the Greater Israel project.” In his statement during a political podcast appearance, Roberts said that Iran and the wider Islamic world do not directly raise the “Greater Israel” issue in discussions about the future of the Middle East, although he believes it is a central issue driving conflict in the region. According to his view, as reported by Middle East Monitor (MEMO) on Wednesday (29/4/2026), Israel has succeeded in pushing US President Donald Trump to confront Iran. “That fact is something that previous US presidents failed to achieve,” he said in the Dialogue Works podcast. He added that this shift reflects Israel’s ability to influence US decision-making on this sensitive issue. The former US official also stated that most wars in the Middle East in the 21st century are essentially related to this “Greater Israel” concept. He argues that the economic and political consequences of these conflicts are not limited to the countries involved, but extend to the global economy, particularly the energy sector and related markets.
