Global market sentiment showed significant recovery signals after the United States and Iran reached a preliminary agreement to end the conflict and reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz route. The easing of geopolitical uncertainty triggered a return of investor interest in high-risk assets, pushing the price of bitcoin to breach the US$65,900 level, or approximately Rp1.2 billion, on Monday (15/6).

Based on CoinMarketCap data, bitcoin traded in the range of US$63,900 to US$65,900, recording an increase of around 2% in the last 24 hours. This position places the largest crypto asset nearly 8% above last week’s low, which had briefly slumped below US$60,900.

Indodax Chief Marketing Officer Aloysia Dian assessed that stability in the Middle East provides breathing room for the market after weeks of cautious sentiment. According to her, the decline in global risk automatically increases investors’ risk appetite.

“The crypto market is currently responding to improving global sentiment after geopolitical uncertainty began to subside. When global risk decreases, investors tend to increase exposure to high-volatility assets, including bitcoin and other crypto assets,” said Aloysia.

In addition to bitcoin, several other major crypto assets also recorded positive performance. This recovery runs parallel with a correction in Brent crude oil prices, which fell more than 4% towards the US$83 per barrel range. The decline in oil prices occurred as the market began to erase the geopolitical risk premium that had previously burdened the global economy. On the other hand, Asian stock markets and US stock index futures moved positively, while pressure on the US dollar began to ease.

Although the current trend is positive, Indodax reminded that the sustainability of bitcoin’s strengthening still depends on many factors, including institutional fund flows, regulatory developments, and global monetary policy.

“Investors need to observe market developments thoroughly and not focus solely on one particular sentiment,” added Aloysia. As a regulated crypto exchange in Indonesia, the company advises the public to continue applying the principle of Do Your Own Research (DYOR) and utilise the Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) strategy through routine investment features to manage risk amid dynamic market volatility.
