Washington (ANTARA) - Washington is hoping for a “total ceasefire on all fronts,” United States President Donald Trump said on Thursday, urging “everyone in the Middle East” to honour their commitments. “We are expecting a total Ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon, Hezbollah, and Israel,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “The United States is committed to peace, and we encourage all parties in the Middle East region to keep their commitments so that our negotiations proceed smoothly,” he added. Trump signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iran in France on Wednesday (17/6), marking the start of a 60-day negotiation period beginning Thursday aimed at reaching a final agreement. The MoU calls for “the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.” However, Israel has stated it has no intention of withdrawing its forces from Lebanon.
