US investors became the largest buyers in Danantara Indonesia’s inaugural global bond issuance worth US$1.5 billion. This fact was one of the main highlights of the debt offering, which attracted demand of up to US$4.6 billion, or an oversubscription of more than three times. Danantara Indonesia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rosan Roeslani revealed that the investor composition in the bond issuance showed high interest from United States (US) investors. For the 5-year tenor bonds, US investors absorbed around 38% of the total issuance, while investors from Europe and the Middle East reached 41%, and Asia accounted for 21%. For the 10-year tenor bonds, the dominance of US investors was even greater. As many as 52% of buyers came from the US, followed by investors from Europe and the Middle East at 31%, and Asia at 17%. “Interestingly, the biggest enthusiasts and buyers are from the United States. Especially for the 10-year, 52% of those who subscribed to our bond are from the United States,” Rosan said during a press conference on Monday (15/6/2026). According to Rosan, this composition is quite interesting considering that historically, Asian investors have usually been the main buyers of Indonesian debt. However, in Danantara’s first bond issuance, the portion of US investors dominated instead. He assessed that the high interest from US and other global investors reflects international market confidence in Indonesia and in Danantara as a state investment management institution. “Market confidence, the outside world’s confidence in Indonesia is very good, and this is reflected in their willingness to buy Danantara’s global bond,” he said. Danantara had previously targeted raising US$1 billion through the global bond issuance. However, after the bookbuilding process recorded demand reaching US$4.6 billion, the issuance value was ultimately increased to US$1.5 billion. The funds were split into US$750 million for the 5-year tenor with a coupon of 5.35% and US$750 million for the 10-year tenor with a coupon of 5.95%. Rosan noted that the high demand and relatively competitive yield levels demonstrate a positive response from global investors to Danantara’s inaugural bond issuance, which recently obtained a credit rating equivalent to Indonesia’s sovereign rating from international rating agencies.
