US Intelligence Says Iran's Uranium Stockpile Reaches Record High
Director of National Intelligence of the United States, Tulsi Gabbard, has issued a warning regarding Iran’s nuclear activities, which are deemed to have reached the most alarming point. In testimony before the US House Intelligence Committee on Tuesday (17/3) local time, Gabbard revealed that Tehran’s stockpile of enriched uranium is now at its highest level. “Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium is currently at a level never before seen for a country without nuclear weapons,” Gabbard emphasised before the committee members. In addition to uranium enrichment, Gabbard highlighted Tehran’s ambitions to expand its influence in the Middle East. She stated that Iran continues to develop and maintain an arsenal of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This weapons technology is claimed to be capable of reaching US military targets as well as allied countries in the region. This intelligence report also predicts that Iran will continue to increase pressure to demand the withdrawal of US military forces from the Middle East. This strategy is implemented by arming and funding networks of militant groups and terrorist actors that share ideology with Tehran to oppose Israel.
