JAKARTA. The reduction in United States import tariffs on Indonesian products from the initially planned 32% to 19% has prompted Pertamina to prepare an oil and gas import agenda from the US, including crude oil and LPG.

Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, who also serves as Pertamina's Vice President Commissioner, Todotua Pasaribu, stated that the tariff reduction from 32% to 19% demonstrates Indonesia's increasingly strategic position in the eyes of the US.

"Yes, this means that if we want to talk about it, our country is strategic. The United States has already agreed to lower import tariffs from 32% to 19%," he said following the Pertamina Investor Day 2025 event on Wednesday (16/7).
