US House of Representatives Rejects Trump Impeachment Resolution

The United States House of Representatives has rejected the resolution for the impeachment of President Donald Trump. A total of 232 members of parliament opposed the impeachment resolution, while 147 others supported it, and 47 members abstained from voting.

US Representative Al Green, a Democrat from Texas, had introduced the draft resolution calling for the commencement of the impeachment process against President Trump in August 2026. According to a report by The Washington Times, the politician alleged that President Trump had transformed immigration law enforcement agencies into his own unaccountable paramilitary police force.

Democratic leaders in the US House of Representatives declared their presence without casting a vote for or against the motion to suspend the impeachment resolution. Formal impeachment efforts must be undertaken following a more extensive congressional investigation.

A vote of ‘present’ is considered an official participation in the voting process by members of parliament, but without choosing to approve or reject the motion.

President Trump has repeatedly stated that he would face impeachment if the Democratic Party wins the midterm elections in November 2026 and gains control of the US Congress.
