U.S. funds hospital construction

KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi (Antara): The United States had provided more than US$3 million (about Rp 7 billion) of fund to assist the construction of a public hospital here.

The fund would be channeled in stages starting this year, said the province's Governor La Ode Kaimoeddin here yesterday.

The local authorities had provided a 20-hectare area for the hospital, which is located next to the Kendari municipal administration office compound in Poasia sub-district.

Most of the hospital equipments would be imported from the United States, he said without giving details on when the hospital was expected to be operational.
