Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Fuel prices in the United States continue to rise in tandem with surging oil prices, impacted by the war between the US-Israel and Iran, which is now entering its second month.

According to the latest data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) as of 30 March 2026, fuel prices vary by region, ranging from US$3.59 to US$5.33 per gallon.

The highest price is recorded in the West Coast region at US$5.33 per gallon, while the lowest is in the Gulf Coast at US$3.59 per gallon.

In detail, one gallon of fuel in the United States is equivalent to 3.785 litres. Thus, for the highest price in the West Coast at US5.33pergallonorapproximatelyRp90, 487pergallon(exchangerateRp16, 977/US), the price per litre reaches around Rp23,907 per litre.

Meanwhile, in the lowest-priced region, the Gulf Coast, fuel prices stand at US$3.59 per gallon or Rp60,947 per gallon. When converted to litres, this amounts to approximately Rp16,102 per litre.

This price increase is inseparable from pressures in the global oil market due to distribution disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil trade route affected by geopolitical conflict in the Middle East.

On the other hand, several countries in Southeast Asia have also raised their fuel prices.

For example, in Singapore, the average fuel price for petrol reaches US2.545perlitreorRp43, 308perlitre(exchangerateRp17, 017/US). Meanwhile, diesel fuel reaches US$2.978 per litre or Rp50,676 per litre.

In contrast to Southeast Asian countries, the Indonesian government has decided to hold domestic fuel prices, applying not only to subsidised fuel but also to non-subsidised fuel.

For instance, at Pertamina petrol stations, the price of RON 92 or Pertamax fuel remains Rp12,300 per litre as of 1 April. Pertamax Green or RON 95 remains Rp12,900 per litre.

This also applies to Pertamax Turbo, which remains Rp13,100 per litre. Dexlite remains Rp14,200 per litre. And Pertamina Dex remains Rp14,500 per litre.

As for Pertamina’s subsidised fuels, RON 90 or Pertalite remains Rp10,000 per litre. Similarly, Subsidised Solar remains Rp6,800 per litre.
