US Forces Launch Fresh Strikes on Iranian Military Targets

Washington - The United States armed forces launched the latest strikes against Iranian military targets on Wednesday local time, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM). The latest air strikes began on Wednesday at 5.30 p.m. Eastern Time, CENTCOM announced on the X platform. “This mission will continue to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting the region’s waters,” the US command said. Earlier on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump threatened to destroy a bridge or power plant in Iran every time the country fires upon a ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz. “From now on, every time the Islamic Republic of Iran fires upon a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether using Missiles, Rockets, Drones, or other devices or weapons, the US will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those near or in the Capital City of Tehran,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform. In response, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the country’s main military command, warned on Wednesday that if the US attacks Iranian infrastructure, Iran will blockade all oil exports from West Asia and target oil, gas, electricity, and economic infrastructure in the Middle East region, according to media reports. The Iranian military headquarters added that continued US threats would only lead to a wider war in the region and even beyond. A Washington Post-Ipsos poll released last week found that 68 percent of US adults believe a war with Iran is “not worth fighting”, while 28 percent said the opposite.
