US Fighter Jets Attack Iran While Searching for Missing F-15 Pilot

Istanbul (ANTARA) - US fighter jets are reported to have fired on several areas in Kohgiluyeh, Iran, while conducting a search for a US fighter jet pilot who crashed there, Tasnim reported on Sunday (5/4). Quoting military sources, the news agency stated that the attack targeted locations believed to be where the pilot was located. According to the sources, the strike was carried out because the US had become desperate and lost hope of evacuating the pilot in a rescue operation. It was also mentioned that the US “did not tell the full truth” about the pilot, and Iranian authorities would not disclose whether they had detained him. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Friday that it had shot down a fighter jet in central Iran using their air defence systems. The US and Israel launched a joint airstrike against Iran on 28 February, which has so far killed 1,340 people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran then retaliated with drone and missile attacks on Israel as well as areas in Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. The counterattacks resulted in loss of life, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
