US F-16 Jet 'Flees' After Being Struck by Iranian Air Defence Missile

The air operations of the United States (US) fighter jet fleet have reportedly suffered a setback from the air defence units of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The semi-military news agency Tasnim reported that the IRGC successfully forced a US F-1ng fighter jet, which attempted an intrusion, to retreat from their airspace.

“After the enemy F-16 fighter jet violated Persian Gulf airspace, the IRGC air defence systems immediately released missile fire towards it. The aggressor fighter jet then immediately fled the scene,” stated an official release from the IRGC public relations office on Thursday morning.

This incident occurred shortly after the US military announced the commencement of a new wave of aggression against Iranian territory. According to reports from the Tasnim news agency, during this latest wave of attacks launched by the US military against Iran, several points in the country’s southern coastal region became targets for US fighter jet airstrikes.

Conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran is expected to persist until October 2027. Dinna Prapto Raharja, an International Relations expert from Binus University, explained that this conflict is expanding across the Middle East, alongside Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

“In my view, looking at Israel’s power map, the (war) will continue until October… until the next Israeli election,” Dinna said when contacted by ANTARA on Wednesday.

According to her, Israel will continue to launch military attacks against Lebanese militant groups, specifically Hezbollah, which is an Iranian ally working to pressure Tel Aviv and Washington’s interests.

“Israel intends to devastate Beirut as a symbol of Lebanon’s downfall,” Dinna added.
