Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - The United States Embassy is keen to help increase the number of tourists from the country visiting Bali, making it as easy as possible.

“We are pleased to communicate with US companies and different airlines to make travel easier, as it is a long journey. We are very interested in helping many US citizens come to Bali, as easily as possible,” said the US Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Peter M Haymond, at the Jimbaran Hub, Badung Regency, Bali, Wednesday.

One option to increase the number of tourists from the US is by opening direct flights or adding more flights from various locations.

“We will do our best to support that,” he said.

Currently, there are no direct flights from Bali to the United States. As a result, tourists from the country must transit at least once through another city from Bali, including Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong, Doha or Dubai.

The senior diplomat explained that tourists from his country are high spenders. In 2025, they are projected to spend money that will contribute to the economic growth of Bali, reaching $330 million, or approximately IDR 5.54 trillion (assuming $1 US = IDR 16,800).

Based on data from the Bali Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of tourists from the US in Bali in 2025 reached 274,000, ranking seventh in terms of foreign tourist visits. This number increased by 4.88 percent compared to the 2024 figure of 261,000.

“They come to see the beauty of Balinese culture and its rich traditions. They represent the population of the United States who are on vacation abroad and want to see famous tourist destinations in the world, including Bali,” he said.
