U.S.-E. Timor

Correction: Yesterday's story titled Police to deport American journalist from East Timor which appeared on this page incorrectly stated that the United States does not recognize East Timor as part of Indonesia. The long standing U.S. policy is that its government recognizes the incorporation of East Timor into Indonesia without maintaining that a valid act of self determination has taken place.
