U.S donates drug detectors
JAKARTA (JP): The U.S. government donated a set of drug detectors to the Indonesian Police and Customs on Friday.
U.S. embassy press officer Craig Stromy said the grant was aimed at helping Indonesia to fight international drug syndicates.
"The transfer of equipment is part of the cooperation between Indonesia and the U.S. in fighting the drug syndicates," he said.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the National Police Brig. Gen. Rusdiharjo accepted the equipment consisting of 15 boxes of heroine test kits, 15 boxes of miscellaneous narcotics test kits, one fax machine, 10 ballistic vests, seven 35 millimeter cameras, two television sets, one video recorder and four Polaroid instant cameras.
The U.S. government also gave Indonesian Customs 15 boxes of heroin test kits, 15 boxes of miscellaneous narcotics test kits and one fax machine. (01)
