US Dollar Hits Rp 18,000 Again This Morning

The exchange rate of the United States (US) dollar against the rupiah strengthened again at the opening of trading this morning, Tuesday (29/09/2026). The US currency even briefly breached the Rp 18,000 level this morning.

According to Bloomberg data, the US dollar touched the Rp 18,000 level at the start of trading. By 09:25 WIB, the US dollar gradually declined, despite recording a 0.08% increase to the level of Rp 17,989.

Shortly thereafter, the US dollar strengthened again by 0.13% to the level of Rp 18,002 at 09:27 WIB. The US dollar is expected to move within the range of Rp 17,987 to Rp 18,007 throughout the day.

It is noted that the US dollar stood at the 17,978 level at the close of the previous trading session on Monday (28/09). Throughout 2026, the US dollar has been recorded to have strengthened by up to 7.85%.

Meanwhile, based on RTI Business data, the US dollar strengthened by 0.06% to the level of Rp 17,979. The US currency has moved up by 7.81% throughout 2026.
