US Demands Poland Deploy Air Defence Systems to Middle East
Moscow (ANTARA) - The United States has demanded that Poland deploy Patriot air defence systems to the Middle East to help counter Iranian attacks, Polish media reported on Tuesday. Washington also wants missiles already placed in Poland along the Vistula River, according to the newspaper Rzeczpospolita. Meanwhile, Poland has not yet given an official response, the newspaper reported. The Polish military operates two Patriot air defence systems equipped with 16 launchers and around 600 missiles. On Monday (30/3), US President Donald Trump stated that the United States would destroy and completely eliminate all of Iran’s power plants, oil wells, Kharg Island, and desalination facilities. On 28 February, the United States and Israel launched attacks on targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran then retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.
