US Confirms Iran Could Access Rp 5 Quadrillion if Peace Deal Reached

WASHINGTON — The United States has confirmed that Iran will be able to access fresh funds amounting to $300 billion (approximately £235 billion) for reconstruction costs if it agrees to comply with a peace agreement.

“These funds are accessible, funded by a Gulf coalition, as long as they fulfil their obligations,” US Vice President J.D. Vance told CBS News on Monday (15/06/2026).

Vance made these remarks in response to Iranian statements claiming the nation would receive $300 billion for reconstruction.

Vance added that the US would have no objection if Gulf region nations chose to invest in Iran’s reconstruction process, provided Tehran meets its commitments.

“We are fully open to the steps taken by Gulf nations to invest in the reconstruction of Iran. As long as Iran ends its nuclear programme, eliminates its enriched uranium, and is fully open to monitoring and enforcement measures, which can reassure the American people that they will never possess nuclear weapons,” Vance stated.

Previously, the semi-official Iranian news agency, Mehr, cited a draft memorandum of understanding for peace between Iran and the US, stating that the US and its allies are obligated to guarantee efforts to restore the Iranian economy worth at least $300 billion.
