US Claims It Has Sunk More Than 30 Iranian Vessels
The United States has claimed it has sunk more than 30 Iranian ships during the ongoing war. A senior US military officer said Tehran’s ballistic missile and drone attacks have declined substantially. ‘We have now sunk more than 30 ships, and in recent hours we attacked an Iranian drone carrier, about the size of a World War II-era carrier. And at the moment, that vessel is on fire,’ said Admiral Brad Cooper at a press conference, quoted by AFP on Friday, 6 March 2026. Cooper said Iranian ballistic missile attacks have fallen 90 percent. He said drone attacks have fallen 83 percent. ‘Iranian ballistic missile attacks have fallen by 90 percent since day one. Drone attacks have fallen by 83 percent since day one,’ said Cooper, head of Central Command responsible for US forces in the Middle East. The United States launched a major air campaign against Iran together with Israeli forces on 28 February. Iran responded by firing waves of attack drones and missiles at countries in the region. The mission of the United States is to destroy Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities and its navy, referred to as ‘Epic Fury’. Cooper said the United States is not only targeting Iran’s missiles, but is also seeking to decimate the Iranian ballistic missile production base for the future. ‘As we transition to the next phase of this operation, we will systematically dismantle Iran’s missile production capabilities for the future,’ Cooper said.
