US Bombs Iranian Missile Storage in 90-Minute Assault as Tensions Escalate

The United States military has completed a series of strikes lasting 90 minutes against Iran, targeting missile storage and launch sites. The latest assault focused on coastal defence systems and cruise missile facilities on Greater Tunb Island, located near the western entrance of the Strait of Hormuz. “These strikes further degrade Iran’s ability to target merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz,” US Central Command stated, noting the operation began at 6:00 a.m. local time and concluded by 7:30 a.m. The military released video footage showing thermal imaging of the precision strikes.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Ministry of Health reported that more than 260 people have been wounded in the recent wave of US attacks. Spokesperson Hossein Kermanpour stated that the casualties included at least three women and six children, adding that 222 of the injured had been treated and discharged. Earlier, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said over 30 civilians had been killed in US strikes on southern Iran in recent days. The Iranian army also confirmed that seven military personnel were killed in overnight strikes targeting a base in the country’s southeast.
