US Blocks Iranian Flights

Tehran (ANTARA) - The Iranian Parliament has revealed that the United States is not only imposing a trade blockade but also a flight blockade against Iran.

“The leaders of the White House must know that the brave Iranian nation will never back down, even in the face of trade and flight blockades,” stated the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, on Tuesday.

According to him, Tehran will respond to all forms of oppression strongly, precisely, and swiftly.

In early September 2026, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Iranian airlines would no longer be permitted to operate flights and would not receive ground services due to sanctions starting from 23 September.

Following this move, several countries have suspended flights operated by Iranian airlines.

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament added that as long as Iran is unable to sell oil, no country in the region will be able to do so either.

Ghalibaf also emphasised that as long as threats to Iran’s security persist, the Middle East region will continue to face insecurity that threatens infrastructure facilities.
