U.S. army seeks Filipino cooks
ANGELES CITY, Philippines (AFP): The U.S. army is seeking 60
Filipino cooks on one-month contracts during its military
exercises with South Korea, a U.S. army officer said yesterday.
Pamela Hastings, U.S. Army contracting officer, said the
Filipinos hired would live at Suwon and Yongsan Air Bases and
Camp Walker in Korea during the U.S. army's exercises with South
Korea from Aug. 1 to Sept. 1 this year.
They were looking to the Philippines since there was a lack of
part-time skilled labor in Korea, Hastings said, adding that
round-trip tickets to and from Korea would be provided.
