US Approves Israel's Massacre in Lebanon
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEL AVIV – Israeli media report that Tel Aviv has reached an understanding with Washington to separate the Lebanon and Iran fronts in the ceasefire agreement. This allows Israeli occupation forces to continue their attacks in the outskirts of southern Beirut and southern Lebanon on Thursday morning. On Wednesday, Israel launched its largest assault against Lebanon, following the announcement by US President Donald Trump of a temporary ceasefire in Iran. Unlike the announcements from Iran and Pakistan, Israel stated that “the ceasefire does not include Lebanon.” This was not conveyed yesterday when Iran and Pakistan claimed that the ceasefire encompassed Israel’s attacks in southern Lebanon. The Iranian side has received significant support from world countries this time that Lebanon should be included in the ceasefire agreement. Yedioth Ahronoth quoted Israeli security sources saying that “an understanding has been reached between the political leadership in America and Israel to separate the Lebanon and Iran fronts,” emphasising that Israel’s estimates show that Hezbollah has more than 15,000 members. Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir vowed to continue the army’s attacks in Lebanon “without respite.” He said that the troops would continue to target Hezbollah, emphasising that every opportunity would be utilised to strengthen what he described as Israel’s northern security. Meanwhile, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that “the Security Cabinet ended its meeting at 02.00, where ministers and senior officials listened to a briefing from the Prime Minister on the details of the ceasefire agreement with Iran and the exclusion of Lebanon from that agreement.” Meanwhile, Israeli Minister Ze’ev Elkin said that “Hezbollah received a severe blow yesterday, Wednesday, when Israel attacked them in an unprecedented manner, killing hundreds of its leaders and members and destroying its weapons depots.” Elkin added in his interview with Israeli radio, “We are working in Lebanon, and we have achieved unprecedented accomplishments and built a security belt, and we effectively control up to the Litani River, and we have not left a single Shiite resident in this area.”
